About This In-Person Seminar
This interactive seminar is designed to deepen therapists' understanding of how trauma develops and affects both the mind and body. Participants will explore various trauma-related diagnoses, the development and storage of trauma in the brain and body, and the impact and differences between “Big T” trauma and “Little T” trauma. The seminar will have a special focus on EMDR and DBT as effective treatment modalities for trauma survivors. Case vignettes, role plays, and practical tools will be used to enhance skills for working with trauma survivors.

- Explore belief systems and conditioned behaviors created by traumatic experiences.

- Engage in case vignettes and role plays to practice trauma-informed interventions and refine clinical skills.
Meet the Presenter
Briea Frestel, LCSW, CADC
Briea Frestel, LCSW, CADC, is a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years of experience in the mental health field. She is trained in EMDR and certified in DBT, specializing in trauma, eating disorders, addiction, and mood disorders. Briea has worked across diverse settings including residential, community outreach, outpatient, and now in private practice, where she has been helping clients for the past six years.
In addition to her clinical work, Briea is an experienced speaker, offering training and workshops for fellow therapists, community workers, educators, parents, and students. Through her speaking engagements, she aims to provide practical tools and insights to better support individuals facing mental health challenges.
