About This In-Person Seminar

This seminar is designed for any mental health professional that directly treats clients with anxiety disorders, trauma disorders, or obsessive-compulsive disorders. The seminar is applicable to those working in private practice, community mental health, inpatient, residential, or any other setting in which clients engage in counseling. We will first discuss the limits of talk therapy and why exposures can supplement treatment, while also reviewing the risks of exposure therapy. The majority of the seminar will be discussing how to apply exposure therapy using real life examples and hands-on techniques for immediate use with clients.

Meet the Presenter

John Deku, LCPC


John Deku has over ten years of experience in the field, with much of that time focusing on the treatment of anxiety disorders. He has worked in inpatient and community mental health settings before joining a private practice. John is a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Sciences and is an active learner in the growth and practice of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. He is passionate about balancing the research of clinical psychology with a warm, supportive, therapeutic relationship.
